My name is John Savage and as the Labour Party Candidate
I'm seeking your support to become the Police & Crime Commissioner for Avon & Somerset.
On 15 November 2012, for the first time ever, the public across Avon & Somerset will elect a police and crime commissioner. This is an important new role that could give local people a powerful voice in policing, holding the Chief Constable and local police force to account for reducing crime.
My priorities in taking on this role would be:
- I will ensure that any cuts in police resources do not impact on the most vulnerable members of our communities.
- I will work hard to listen to the voice of local people, bringing a collaborative approach to tackling crime in Avon & Somerset.
- I will be a committed champion for the Avon & Somerset communities, ensuring that this area wins its fair share of resources from central government and that the best use is made of our budgets to benefit the whole community.
